About Technology Standards
How We Got Started
Back in the day when companies began to rely more heavily on many forms of technology that had to be integrated in many ways, it was all too often that some simply put technology in place and thought it would just keep working. And if it is all done correctly, that can be the case. But then we noticed that some did not put in a plan to keep the technology updated and refreshed as technology improved.
Technology Standards is all about better planning and designing first. Then we saw the need to provide guidance to avoid costly mistakes when purchasing and deploying the hardware, applications and IT security services. Like many things we use heavily, maintenance and upkeep is crucial to helping the technology work for the users instead of interrupting them. Finally, we help to avoid the frustration and poor performance by educating the users to have fun with technology instead of becoming frustrated by it.
Because IT budgets shrink every year but our dependence on technology increases, we had to help companies find ways to use resources more efficiently and to make technology work harder.
Technology Standards was created to do just what the name implies, apply standards that employ best practices, proven concepts, efficient design and reliable performance.
Our Sweet Spot...

...although we have proven helpful to many industries and organizations, often the non-profit public organizations struggle the most with limited budgets and IT staff. Often, budgets are limited so training is reduced or eliminated from the support of the IT staff. When that happens, advancement in the use of technology is very limited. Often these organizations live on with an infrastructure that has not been updated or refreshed in more than 5 years.
Because of some late breaking development s in technology, this is actually the best time for a refresh of technology. The way we access data, use applications and are going wireless, technology improvements are very affordable.
Public and private schools often overlook some great opportunities for funding to purchase technology. We know how to extract dollars from government agencies, and grants that can breathe life into these environments. We have discovered ways to cut licensing costs by 90% in some cases.
